Arizona’s Children Association provides an intensive outpatient treatment program, called the Cornerstone program, utilizing a continuum of treatment services. These services include experiential, group, case management, educational and cognitive therapy services.
All services focus on strength-based treatment serving both male and female youth who have been adjudicated by the juvenile Court and/or enrolled in the behavioral health network. Services are provided in conjunction and collaboration with Juvenile Probation as well as CFT members and provide adjudicated adolescents and their families an alternative to standard correctional interventions.
Through group intervention and case management, the purpose of the program is to prevent the adolescent from using drugs/alcohol and, as well as develop more positive lifestyle choices.
Services Provided
Individual Therapy: One time weekly by a Master’s level Clinician with experience in substance abuse populations
Family Therapy: One time weekly with a Master’s level Clinician to address family dynamics and family functioning
Group Therapy: Two times weekly, including but not limited to: addressing issues of developing positive coping skills and anger management skills; relapse prevention; social skills, develop relationship skill building and peer pressure.
Crisis Support :24/7 availability of an on call Master’s level clinician, as well as on call support through the CFT and/or Juvenile Probation crisis plan.
Case Management: coordinate services upon discharge from program as well as provide coordination among team members; to follow up as needed during the treatment intervention and transition to follow up services.
Additional services include:
Psychosocial Rehabilitation: Providing classroom behavior management training in the home to parents, as well as assistance with budgeting, mentoring, and acquisition of community resources.
Coordinating/Case Management: Serving as liaison on behalf of the family with other agencies, as well as providing assessment done by a therapist, monitoring, supportive adjust services, and mentoring.
Training: Providing educational information to enhance living skills.
Outreach: Strengthening the capability of other community resources to identify and refer appropriate families.
