On this episode, Kurtis sits down with Dan Collins from Independent Radio KWSS 93.9/99.5FM to discuss his own childhood experience with foster care. Dan grew up in Chicago, and knows first-hand what it’s like to ‘age-out’ of the foster care system. He was drawn to AzCA’s Young Adult Services, and the support and resources we provide youth who have or will be transitioning out of Arizona State or Tribal Foster Care.
With Dan’s passion, and the mission of the radio station, they have partnered with AzCA to bring about change and further impact the lives of these young adults. This Friday, March 31st, KWSS is hosting their 2nd Annual Casino Night Fundraiser to raise awareness and funds for both organizations. “I think we need to have some more empathy and some compassion because they didn’t ask for that card, and they couldn’t trade that deck in.” – Dan Collins
