Most children spend the holidays enjoying time with family, feasts, and beautifully wrapped presents. The unfortunate truth for children and young adults living in foster care, and for families facing financial difficulties all across Arizona, are that these holiday traditions and activities are merely a dream.
Holidays can be a harsh reminder of the challenges faced by numerous children and families who utilize services at Arizona’s Children Association (AzCA). Instead of being full of happiness and togetherness, they are stressed and uncertain of how they will make ends meet.
These children, young adults, and families turn to us as a resource to strengthen their families and make life better. Which is why we ask you: Will you give the gift of hope?
AzCA steps in to try to lift the burdens of our children and families during the holidays. With the help of our community, our “Gifts of Hope” holiday campaign is a special opportunity to make this time of year a little brighter for those in need of assistance.
Your organization, office or family can join our decade’s long campaign and help give the gift of hope! There are many ways YOU can make an impact through our “Gifts of Hope” holiday campaign:
- Sponsor a single child or sibling group and we’ll match you with a family in your area! We’ll provide you with their clothing sizes and wish lists for you to shop and deliver the unwrapped toys and gifts to your closest AzCA office before December 8th.
- Coordinate a gift drive at your workplace, club, or even in your neighborhood, for children from birth to age 18 and we’ll match kids with the new, unwrapped gifts you collect.
- Make a financial gift online and we’ll do the shopping for you!
- Shop our Amazon Wish List, where we’ll continue to add items requested by many of our children.
Don’t forget that when you make a monetary contribution to us, you may not only support Arizona’s children and families, but you may benefit from a dollar-for-dollar tax credit. Although we do not qualify for the foster care tax credit, this tax credit program is a separate state program. This means you can make qualifying donations for the foster care and school or education tax credits, and you may claim all three deductions. Please consult your tax advisor for details.
